Halloween Brings Hackers in Your Computer

Security company Sophos discovered a Halloween spam campaign which attempts to redirect the users to malicious websites 8216;equipped8217; with dangerous files. The spam messages can be easily identified using their subjects: 8216;Happy Halloween8217;, 8216;Dancing Bones8217;, 8216;The most amazing dancing skeleton8217;, 8216;Shows this to the kids8217;, 8216;Send this to your friends8217; or 8216;Man this rocks8217;. According to the reports, the messages require the users to visit a malicious website in order to download a dancing skeleton game but instead of saving the Halloween content, they actually get a Trojan horse. While claiming that the move from Zune 1.0 to Zune 2.0 was exclusively the natural evolution of the device, and not a response catalyzed by Apple releasing its new lineup of iPods in early September, Microsoft proved that it was gearing up for the long haul on the digital media player market. The face-off between the Redmond and the Cupertino companies does by no means end with the comparison between Windows and Mac OS X, but has also transitioned between digital media players since Zune hit the shelves at the end of 2006, positioned as an iPod killer.
Over one year after the launch of Zune, Microsoft8217;s digital media player has failed to kill the iPod in any manner, and with Apple evolving its devices a month earlier than Microsoft, the general impression is that the Cupertino-based hardware company is firmly in the lead, with competitors trailing it at a distance in terms of both market share and innovation. Facebook Not Safe for Work

We all know Facebook is a real phenomenon on the Internet but when it is accessed from other places than your personal computer, it instantly becomes a serious matter. Security company Sophos conducted a special research to find out how many employees access Facebook from work and how often they do it. No more than 37.2 percent of the total 500 Facebook users who answered the questionnaire said they access the social network website one or twice a day from their workstation, while 8 percent admitted they visit the page up to ten times a day.
