Designed for Linux = Windows Vista Incapable

Back in 2006, even before the release to manufacturing of Windows Vista, Microsoft introduced the Windows Vista Capable logo program, designed to fuel computer sales over the holidays despite the fact that the operating system would only manage to hit the shelves on January 30, 2007. The logos were meant to indicate which machines, at that time pre-loaded with Windows XP, were capable of running at least the low end edition of Vista. Microsoft’s latest Windows client comes in no less than four flavors for the general consumer market: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate. Read More »
10 Minutes Of Staring at Boobs Daily Prolongs Man’s Life by 5 Years

Listen, guys, now we know why Pamela Anderson made her transplants: to make us healthier. “Angels of mercy” like Jordan just prolong our life and Hugh Hefner knows it.
A German research published in New England Journal of Medicine said that men staring at women’s breasts in fact prolong their lives with years.
“Just 10 minutes of staring at the charms of a well-endowed female such as Baywatch actress Pamela Lee is equivalent to a 30-minute aerobics work-out,” said author Dr. Karen Weatherby, a gerontologist.
The team led by Weatherby was made up of researchers at three hospitals in Frankfurt, Germany, and found this results after monitoring for 5 years the health of 200 male subjects, half of whom were asked to look at busty females daily, while the other half had to abstain from doing so. Read More »

Amazon’s Amazing e-book

November 26, 2007
It’s called Kindle and quite honestly it looks like something that was designed 20 years ago but as e-books go this one has got quite a lot going for it. To begin with it comes from Amazon, and if anyone is going to get the e-book market started it’s them. The actual display is every bit as good as rival designs from Sony and Philips, and the price at around £200 is on the right side of reasonable. As with other e-books the display draws negligible power virtually none when a page is displayed it’s very easy to use, but the killer feature is built-in Wi-Fi, which means no messing around with PCs to download your favourite book, and with around 90,000 currently available, there’s bound to be something worth reading. So will it catch on? Difficult to say at this very early stage of the game, but it’s definitely starting to get interesting.

November 26, 2007
Being addicted to love can be extremely real. In fact, many obsessions such as the one some people have for sex, food or video games act just like drug addictions. You may have noticed some similarities between them, but the reactions taking place in the brain of the people addicted to gambling or video games are similar to those encountered in the brains of the alcoholics and cannabis addicted people.
Parents may helplessly witness how their children change habits becoming, from a normal kid, a miserable, withdrawn person, skipping school, being always angry when confronted, and stealing from family and friends to fuel their obsessions. And this personality and behavioral change can last for years. Any difference from a cocaine addict? Read More »

The Battle for Speed: Yet Another DRAM Plant

November 25, 2007
Contrary to expert opinions about the DRAM markets being oversaturated, Formosa Advanced Technologies executives announced their decision of opening a third DRAM plant. The action comes as a response to the demands of the company’s partners Nanya Technology and Inotera Memories.
The memory industry environment has reached a point of saturation where the average selling prices do not cover even the manufacturing price, which leads to severe profit loss. Yet, according to the declarations of Wen-Yuan Wong, CEO of Formosa Advanced Technologies, the current manufacturing units are unable to deliver the necessary amount of DRAM backend production demand. The Skype Travel Mouse is a mouse with an integrated phone. It features a 128 x 64 pixel LCD display for caller ID, etc. and a sliding numeric keypad. I don’t use Skype myself, because I live in a tree house and make all my calls with a rusty soup can and a long piece of string. But if you are big into Skype, maybe you want one. If so it’ll set you back $42.50. Read More »
