explore-150x150 Keeping Tabs on Windows ExplorerAs you know (aka My , etc.) lets you see what’s stored on your , move files around and so on, and it works reasonably well, but it could be so much better.

Over the years we’ve looked at several alternatives, but this one, called Explorer ++ is definitely one of the best. It does pretty well everything standard does but its main claim to fame is a multi-tab display, so you can quickly switch between folders. There’s also a file details and preview pane at the bottom (it has all of the usual type ‘Views’ as well), file delete, it’s highly customisable and it supports advanced operations, like file merging and splitting.

This is an Alpha release and there’s still a few bits missing and the odd bug that need sorting out, and you shouldn’t really it on a mission-critical PC. Nevertheless, it seems pretty stable and it’s a stand-alone so doesn’t interfere with and it should be fairly safe but you try it at your own risk.
