It seems that NVIDIA is working on a solution right now, although it’s trying to keep it secret. It is not sure what chip the green company will use to power the card, yet there are some voices stating that it may be a . The same rumors say that the solution may be due for a December launch.

The Santa Clara manufacturer appears to be silent on its future plans. It only talked about CUDA, and Graphics plus concept with its partners, yet it is focusing on the for or other segments as well. The new card that the company is rumored to be working on may prove a power hungry and really hot product, yet it won’t matter that much if it manages to perform a lot better than Radeon HD 4870 X2, the leader of the extreme market today.

More news on NVIDIA suggests that the company will have its first chip ready in March 2009. Voices on the web say that this would be the best scenario for the green company. We already learned that both NVIDIA and ATI had plans to launch the new architecture next year, but that was supposed to take place sometime in June, not earlier.

The rumors on NVIDIA’s card do not mention whether it will be targeted at the mainstream, low end or high end market segment nor disclose any specific piece of information on the card. Still, it is suggested that the Santa Clara company will try to speed things up to come to the market with a solution before ATI. It seems that the card was planned quite a while ago, but some problems with TSMC delayed the launch a bit.

Both NVIDIA and ATI will have new cards made under the 40- process released after the second quarter of the next year, and ATI is said to be on a “waiting mode” to see what NVIDIA is capable of and then strike back.
