Rock Notebook Featuring HD DVD Capabilities

As the mobile computer market segment is getting bigger and bigger, more hardware manufacturing companies and system integrators are readying themselves to step up and bring at least one notebook or laptop to consumers. One of the relatively small companies that are now thriving on the mobile computer market expansion is Rock, a laptop and notebook manufacturing outfit that now brings a line of product offerings that boast the latest in computing power and multimedia features.
The new mobile computer system designed and produced by Rock is now available under the Pegasus 670 name and it is a machine based on the Intel mobile technology, the Centrino Duo. As it comes equipped with pretty high end hardware components, the Pegasus 670 may be considered a top of the line offering that is fitted into a stylish and easy package that is protected by an anti-theft alarm.
Pegasus 670 comes powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 central processing unit that operates to a clock speed of 2.4GHz and which comes with 4MB of L2 cache memory, while being backed up by the presence of a mainboard centered around an Intel mobile chipset. Up to 4GB of DDR2 random access memory running at 800MHz can be installed in this notebook and that gives it an edge in the latest 3D games and other computing intensive applications.
A 15.4 inch widescreen LCD is also provided that has a native resolution of 1680 by 1050 pixels and thanks to its medium size it is able to provide the best middle way between portability and multimedia features. To back up this display and provide users with a rich visual experience, Rock integrated into the Pegasus 670 notebook a discrete Nvidia powered graphics card that is centered around the GeForce 8600M GT graphics processing unit which comes with 512MB of dedicated video memory.
On the storage side, the 670 model comes equipped with a Serial ATA hard disk drive as well as with a HD-DVD or Dual Layer DVD Writer combo optical drive, while the presence of the wireless Intel networking interface assures a rich range of connection opportunities. On the software side, the Rock Pegasus 670 notebook comes with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium operating system pre-installed as well as the Roxio DVD burning software application and a free 60 day trial version of the Microsoft Works 8.5 and Microsoft Office 2007.
