Microsoft Softwear Launch
No, it’s not a spelling mistake, Microsoft has either run out of money or has finally gone mad and announced its own range of clothing range called, you guessed it, ‘Softwear’. Launched next week in the US, an apparently well-known celebrity rapper called Common will, MS hopes, give the range the necessary street credibility. The designs are supposed to tap into the retro/nostalgia market for the early days of computing. They’ll feature the DOS and Microsoft logos and apparently there will even be a mug shot of Uncle Bill, as well as various other colourful and funky patterns. Mmmm cant’ wait. It will be interesting to whether or not they require on-line activation to stop them being pirated…
Conquer Your Colour Scheme
I get a lot of emails and letters asking why the colours in printed photos sometimes don’t match what’s on the screen? Sometimes it’s the printer, but more often than not it’s simply that the monitor hasn’t been properly set up. Monitor calibration is essential if you work with graphics or photo editing software but how many of us ever take the time to adjust our monitors, apart from twiddling the brightness and contrast controls? Not many, I bet, but there’s no excuse any more. A freeware program called Calibrize takes you gently by the hand, and in three simple steps helps you to adjust your display; from start to finish it only takes around 2 minutes and the new settings or colour ‘profile’ is then saved and applied every time you start Windows. It’s also handy for those who, like me, use two monitors, making it easy to accurately match the two displays.
Download Zune theme with colour variations
Zune theme always gives that classic windows xp feel but it never offers any customization in terms of colors. Some people might get bored by the orange coloured start menu in the traditional zune theme by Microsoft
Today, we have come with some beautiful colour variations in the zune theme by a developer Usman Akhtar named Zune Usmanistan
The Zune Usmanistan theme is like an extended version of the original zune theme released by Microsoft, you can change the orange colour start menu to many colours under the ‘Colour Scheme‘ menu on the ‘Appearance’ tab, in ‘Display Properties‘. Read more
Colourful Clicks
You are going to like this one. It’s called Rainbow Folders and it allows you to change the colour of your folders, the ones that appear in Windows Explorer, and any Explorer type window (Open, Save Save As etc.). This makes life a lot easier, instead of everything being in drab yellow, your important or most frequently used folders, really stand out and are therefore much easier to find, or avoid.
Okay, so it’s not exactly a new idea, but unlike similar utilities, you can specify any colour you like from the palette, rather than just a few presets. Read more
