One day I will check my archives but I suspect that I have been writing about the imminent arrival of low cost, flexible photovoltaic solar cells for at least the past 20 years. The idea seems simple enough. Instead of making solar cells out of expensive and fragile silicon and glass and in the process using more energy than they’ll ever generate in their useful lives develop a chemical cocktail that turns light into electricity and coat or print it onto other materials.

gPhones to Be Shipped Soon

God, I know Google is one of the top companies on the web, but there are way too many rumors concerning the gPhone. This piece of speculation sustains the long-discussed gPhones are already shipping by the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC. This is not the first time when HTC is brought into discussions, so there must be a grain of truth somewhere. According to CNN Money, a UBS analyst confirmed the fact that HTC is currently working on the latest details about a 50,000-phone distribution which seem to be equipped (not surprisingly) with Google’s mobile phone operating system. Mozilla Cooks the Mobile Flavor of Firefox

The famous Firefox developer Mozilla is now working on a mobile flavor of the web-browser which would be able to work on most of the handheld devices available on the market. If we analyze the decision a little bit, it is pretty obvious because the world is changing, the mobile industry evolving a lot in the recent period.
Most of the mobile consumers aim to access their email or other web services straight from their devices. Just look at the Internet giants Google and Yahoo which struggle to expand their offerings into the mobile market. Mozilla confirmed the mobile version of Firefox and sustained the building process will start soon.
“Short summary: we are serious about bringing the Firefox experience and technology to mobile devices,” it was mentioned in the introduction of Mozilla blog post. In case you don’t know, Firefox already runs on Nokia N800 but the software company wants even more and prepares a version of the application which would be compatible with most devices.
