Digg for Mobiles Gets Enhanced
Posted by Jason on
August 3, 2008
In a piece of news that might or might not be Digg-worthy, the mobile version of the popular social networking website has gone through a reconditioning process and is now said to be better than ever. Which means that you can digg and/or bury articles from your handset more efficiently (if there’s any efficiency in “dugging” at all).
However, the refreshed Digg Website is not targeted for all the mobile diggers out there, but only for those who own handsets supporting a “full web browsing experience”. You know, the likes of BlackBerry, Palm Treo (or even Centro), Samsung Omnia, HTC Touch Diamond, Apple’s new iPhone 3G and so on. Read More »
Watch and Pen Gadgets

If you’re a gadget fan and have nothing better to do for a few minutes head over to the Chinavision website, where you’ll find some of the coolest-looking, and cheapest electronic gizmos on the planet. Actually this is a wholesale website, offering some of the best (and worst) of what China’s electronics industries have to offer, and if you want the best prices you have to buy in bulk (and don’t forget the import duty) but it looks like they’ll sell one-offs if you’re willing to take a punt. 25 Free Applications For Nokia N95
Posted by Jason on
July 14, 2008
I think for now the Nokia N95 has won, as it’s the only way I can get decent access to my gmail account as the IMAP client on the HTC s620 doesn’t support gmail messages containing HTML, and the gmail mobile email app looks absolutely awful on the Windows Mobile device.
Another reason I love my Nokia N95 is the wide range of applications that can be installed. Just feast your eyes on If you’re looking to pimp your Nokia N95 then there are some great applications here: Read More »
iPod and iPhone on the Big Screen

Here’s an interesting little gadget for iPod and iPhone owners, it’s a mini LED/LCoS projector called the QuingBar MP101. Just pop in your pod (or phone) into the docking slot on the top and it’ll throw up a 640 x 480pixel image, up to 50cm across, on any handy white surface or wall. Okay, so the picture is going to be a bit grainy, and with only 15 lumens on tap, not very bright, but it has to be better than going boss-eyed trying to watch a movie on the handset’s titchy screen. It has a built in speaker and it’ll also charge you iPod or iPhone while it’s in place. No price or UK availability yet – it’s only lust been launched at a European trade show, but I’m guessing £150-ish and in the shops in a month or two.
Flippin Good Camcorder?

May 22, 2008
Here’s a quick heads-up on the next craze, probably… It’s called Flip Video, from Pure Digital and on the other side of the pond they’ve sold a million of them in the past few weeks. It’s a tiny pocket camcorder, around the size of a cellphone, so far so ordinary, but it has a couple of tricks up its sleeve. First it’s cheap, prices in the US start at around $99 or roughly £50. It has a built-in USB connector, so there’s no faffing around with cables, when you want to watch and download your videos to your Windows or Mac PC. Flip Video stores around an hour’s worth of video at quite reasonable quality, and you can upload directly to You Tube or edit the movie. Power comes from a couple of AA batteries and it has a built-in 1.5-inch display screen. Read More »
Watch Out Windows

Radio, phone, GPS, MP3 player, TV, camera… been there done that, but just when you thought there wasn’t anything else that could be shoehorned into a wristwatch, think again. A company called Epoq has managed to fit a copy of Windows Mobile onto one, which you drive using a 1.4-inch OLED touch screen, and just for good measure the EGP-98B has built in 1.3MP camera, wi-fi, Bluetooth and a 4-band GSM phone. Now, it might all be a wind-up (pun intended) because details and availability are all very sketchy, and good images are also hard to find. Read More »

It’s already here if you live in the USA. Goog 411 is one of Google’s latest venture, this time into the directory enquiries market. If you’re in the US simply dial 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800 466-411 in old money), an automated system asks you what you want – business name or category choose the one you want from the list and you’re connected. Phone + Mouse = Skype Travel Mouse

The Skype Travel Mouse is a mouse with an integrated phone. It features a 128 x 64 pixel LCD display for caller ID, etc. and a sliding numeric keypad. I don’t use Skype myself, because I live in a tree house and make all my calls with a rusty soup can and a long piece of string. But if you are big into Skype, maybe you want one. If so it’ll set you back $42.50. Read More »
gPhones to Be Shipped Soon

October 20, 2007
God, I know Google is one of the top companies on the web, but there are way too many rumors concerning the gPhone. This piece of speculation sustains the long-discussed gPhones are already shipping by the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC. This is not the first time when HTC is brought into discussions, so there must be a grain of truth somewhere. According to CNN Money, a UBS analyst confirmed the fact that HTC is currently working on the latest details about a 50,000-phone distribution which seem to be equipped (not surprisingly) with Google’s mobile phone operating system.
