Free PowerShell 2.0 Management Library for Hyper-V R2
PowerShell Management Library for Hyper-V is a rather self-explanatory label for any project, and to little surprise, it delivers just what it promises, namely a PowerShell management library for Microsoft’s hypervisor role in Windows Server. Put together by Microsoft Evangelist James O’Neill, the new PowerShell cmdlets for Hyper-V are designed to allow administrators to implement the resource as a module for PowerShell version 2. PowerShell Management Library for Hyper-V is available free of charge via Microsoft CodePlex, distributed under the company’s Public License (Ms-PL), which is an open source license. The latest version of the library represents an important update from the Release Candidate version.
“This update from the RC version contains more changes than would be normal , hence it is designated as “Gold” rather than “release”. I expect there to be corrections to the on-line help text,” O’Neill stated. “This release was produced to exploit PowerShell V2 and as a PowerShell module it will not run on v1 If you are running an R2 server OS, or are doing remote management from Windows 7 then you have PowerShell V2. If you are running on “Classic” 2008, you will need to upgrade the supplied PowerShell V1 to V2 or stick to V1 of the library.” Read more
Microsoft Unveils the $50,000 PhizzPop Design Challenge
The PhizzPop Design Challenge is an open invitation to web design agencies to overhaul the website of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a nonprofit organization which has been involved with philanthropic work focused on the youth of America for over 104 years. Microsoft has partnered with The Webby Awards for the design contest which features prizes in excess of $50,000. The Microsoft PhizzPop Boys & Girls Clubs of America Design Challenge was kicked off on January 11th, 2010, and all US-based web design agencies are welcome to participate for a chance at the grand price, by tailoring the Boys & Girls Clubs of America website for the Web 2.0.

iPhone OS 3.0 Officially Released
After a painfully long wait, Apple has finally released the much-hyped iPhone 3.0 Software Update, delivering improved functionality and tons of new features to iPhone and iPod touch users worldwide. Two days from now, the iPhone 3G S will also be available to the public. The device will “unlock” the complete set of new features available with iPhone OS 3.0.
“The new iPhone OS 3.0 is a major software release packed with incredible new features and innovations for iPhone customers and developers alike. It will keep us years ahead of the competition,” said Philip Schiller (Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing) back in March, when the company previewed the first developer beta of iPhone OS 3.0. New shoes for better sex
In yet another first for the world’s premier athletic footwear manufacturer, Nike announced Tuesday the nationwide launch of the Air Fornicator, a lightweight copulating shoe designed to maximize sexual performance.

NVIDIA GeForce 185.81 Beta Drivers
Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA has recently introduced a new series of GeForce graphics drivers with a new Beta release of their 185 series. The new release offers support for all of the company’s latest graphics accelerators, including the most recent GeForce GTX 275, as well as other previously-released GeForce cards, part of NVIDIA’s GeForce 6, 7, 8 and 9-series of desktop GPUs. In addition, according to the release notes of the new GeForce drivers, users of NVIDIA graphics accelerators will be able to take advantage of a series of performance increases.
The company’s new GeForce Driver release 185.81 Beta includes support for its latest GeForce GTX 275 graphics processing unit, as well as a number of new features. According to the release notes, users upgrading their drivers to the latest beta release will be provided with support for Ambient Occlusion, a new setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel, CUDA 2.2, for better performance in GPU-enabled applications, and expanded support in the NVIDIA Video Encoding library for GPUs that use less than 32 cores. Vista Service Pack 2 Try Out Available
If you don’t mind taking a teensy-weensy risk Vista Service Pack 2 Release Candidate is now available for download from Microsoft. You could be one of the first kids on the block to give it a whirl. This is more or less the finished version that will be unleashed onto the general public in a few weeks time, provided no last minute bugs are found. That’s where you, as an unpaid guinea pig come in. Just in case something does go wrong Microsoft won’t be there to help, it’s a try it at your own risk type deal, but you will get the benefit of several bug fixes an uprated Search facility and improved support for Bluetooth and Blu-Ray. Expected to come before Windows 7
Windows 7 beta, the border is removed and the remaining free by millions of users worldwide have been tested. I collect a huge appreciation of the different sectors in relation to the beta of Windows 7 from Microsoft, a news came. In fact, many experts were estimated by the courage to say but no one could. And finally, Microsoft was expected to explain, this is another Windows 7 beta will not!

Windows 7 Pre Beta Released to Developers
Microsoft has been busy showing journalists some interesting bits of Windows 7, which you can expect to see on a new PC near you sometime in 2010 or 11, probably… Anyway, the OS still very much in its early stages of development is now being made available to developers to tinker with. Most of the new features have been heavily trailed so there’s no big surprises but the Touch screen stuff does look very impressive. It’s all very Minority Report, with lots of finger wiggling and hand movements, making things whizz around the screen, and pictures twist, tumble, enlarge and reduce, the only thing it doesn’t do is clean off the sticky finger marks afterwards… Read more
